I'm trying to make a skin for ulaunch because i have downloaded a few and want to try out my own. I am like we say in Puerto Rico 'un cero a la izquierda'(a zero on the left hand side) when it comes to photo editing but I staggered on and got some images done in photoshop. But now I wonder if i did something wrong because where all the jpg in the downloaded skins are in the 30- 60kb range, even an xmb style skin with a lot of icons has jpg of 68kb my jpg are 137kb. Am i doing something wrong or is there something i need to take into account when making my jpg? Thanks you for your help.

Here is a winamp skin to match Playboy's DM3 visual style by Playboy [link] Permission Granted. I spent a lot of time on this and it was difficult with the limitations of.
It's nice to know I wasn't screwing things up again. One common mistake is to use images of much higher resolution than uLE is capable of using for its display. Within reasonable limits such pictures will be scaled down to fit the screen, but that will cost some extra time each time the picture needs to be redrawn, and for very high resolution pictures the attempt to use it will crash the console.
Also, larger resolution means larger files, thus wasting your MC space. And all to no purpose since the extra detail of a high-res picture is lost anyway when displayed in low resolution. The most ideal picture size would be somewhere around 640x480, and pictures of half or double that width or height are also guaranteed to work fine, but for pictures larger than 1280x960 I recommend prescaling to a 640x480 file, while pictures smaller than 320x240 are of doubtful usefulness anyway.
(Some simple patterns may work well in very small scale though.) Best regards: dlanor. One common mistake is to use images of much higher resolution than uLE is capable of using for its display. Hi guys I'm new in psx-scene (as a registered user, long time follower). I've made a lot of Winning Eleven/PES modifications for PS2, as stadiums, minipatches, etc, under the nick of 'TheGermanBR', sometimes only 'TheGerman'. Well, using my little ability with Photoshop and Fireworks, decided to do a new uLE No Menu-Skin scheme, because I think that there are a lot of XMB-a-like of enormous quality, so I choose to find new ways.
My skin have a 'Playstation2' color and font scheme, using solid back and gradients of blue to light blue, like 'PS2' logo. Firstly, the credits:: Even if I never talk directly to him, I learned a lot reading his posts about Non-Menu Skins and traditional skin in thread.: Same help, reading his posts about skins.: I used his buttons design (cross, circle, triangle, square) and expect he doesnt care about. If want that I retire the buttons in final version, please tell me The good soul that wrote tutorial, who still updating uLaunchELF by their amazing icons That's all. If I remember anybody who is forgetted, will be here soon. I really dont like to forget to credit. I stopped edit Winning Eleven because some badly intentioned people was using my works with no credits.
This is very unethical. Now, aspects about my skin Navigate with left/right or L1/R1 At anytime you can Power OFF console pressing Start button. : I used his buttons design (cross, circle, triangle, square) and expect he doesnt care about. What a good idea. I love the MC formatter icon the best. The buttons were actually also made by dra6onfire. All I did was rearrange the skin and make the Xploader HDTV icon and add some text.
I have an idea for a variation on this skin design. I'd like to see a two page version (three jpgs to save more MC space) with the most important (most used by me anyway) homebrew/tools, that has the homebrew available in the other page/.jpg as semi-transparent in the background. I'll see if I can put together a pic to illustrate what I mean. I'd recommend a few changes for an alternate version. If only for me to use 1) Use SMS icon instead of one for audio, and one for video. Not sure what app you're using for audio.
What's better than SMS? 2) Put SMS icon in place of PS2 Browser on the main page 3) Make the cross thing, Icons, and text for Icons, even bigger to make it easier to see from far away. (Think projector useage) 4) Change turn off console button to different button, (perhaps select), most everyone I know would press start to run an app, but accidentally turn off the console.
5) on page two have CB, Jpg Viewer, PS2 Browser and make a icon for the GS Mode selector homebrew for this page Link to GSM homebrew. You are also welcome to disregard my suggestions, if you don't like them, or think no-one else will want a version like I'm suggesting Last edited by urbigbro; at 05:05 AM.
